Remember that 5 portions of Fruit and Veg a day is the minimum you should be aiming for. In an ideal world, 10 portions would be good!  And because life is never straight forward - we recommend that the majority of your portions are veg’. For example, 5 portions of fruit and veg’ should probably mean 4 portions of veg’ and 1 of fruit. This is because excess consumption of fruit has recently been linked to developing diabetes and gout.
